2010 Winter/Spring Meetings

We’re looking forward to some great meetings in the next few months.

January 21 – David Barker from Heritage will be speaking on the importance of pastoral sabbaticals. He will cover areas such as:

  • What is the biblical basis for a sabbatical?
  • Why are sabbaticals so important?
  • How should I approach my church about the possibility of a sabbatical?
  • How should I go about planning for a sabbatical?

January’s meeting will take place at North York (Chinese) Baptist Church, 675 Sheppard Ave East (map) from noon to 2:00. Cost is $10, free for first-timers. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

February 18 – Fellowship Networks Director Robin Pifer will be joining us, taking a rare break from his live radio show. The meeting will be held at West Toronto Baptist Church, 3049 Dundas St West (map). The meeting takes place from noon to 2:00. Cost is $10, free for first-timers. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

March 25 – Dr. Michael Haykin will be speaking on friendship. The meeting will take place at Morningstar Fellowship, 7601 Sheppard Avenue East (map). The meeting takes place from noon to 2:00. Cost is $10, free for first-timers. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

April 15 – Keith Taylor, a pastor and grief counselor, will be helping us understand how to provide pastoral care to the bereaved. The meeting will take place at Long Branch Baptist Church, 3381 Lakeshore Blvd West (map). The meeting takes place from noon to 2:00. Cost is $10, free for first-timers. November Meeting

Our November meeting will take place on Thursday, November 19 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Willowdale Baptist Church (map). The cost is $10, or free if it is your first time attending. Lunch is provided.

Charles Price, pastor of People’s Church, will be speaking.

October Meeting

Our October meeting will take place on Thursday, October 22 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Islington Baptist Church (map). The cost is $10. Lunch is provided.

Godfrey Thorogood, pastor of Willow Creek Baptist Church, Midhurst. will be speaking on internships. He will be answering questions like: What is the value of internships? Why should we invest in interns? Are internships something that only large churches can pull off?

FEBToronto is pleased to welcome Ed Stetzer, author of Comeback Churches, for a one-day workshop on Church Revitalization. The workshop takes place on Wednesday, September 30 at Richview Baptist Church (map).

UPDATE: The start of the first session has been moved back half an hour to 12:30 pm

12:30 pm – 1:30 pm – Lunch (for pastors who registered before Friday, September 25)
1:30 – 4:30 pm – Session for Pastors
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm – For Boards and Church Leaders

Ed Stetzer has planted churches in New York, Pennsylvania, and Georgia and transitioned declining churches in Indiana and Georgia. He has trained pastors and church planters on five continents, holds two masters degrees and two doctorates, and has written dozens of articles and books. Ed served for three years as seminary professor at the Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and has taught at fifteen other seminaries. He is currently the Director of Lifeway Research and Lifeway’s Missiologist in Residence.

The workshop is free. A freewill offering will be taken to help with expenses. We are grateful to FEBCentral and Fellowship Networks for partnering with us in holding this event.
